Ok following on from my last post, I have now purchased a 2004 Allroad 2.7T with 40k on the clock for the wife. Full details on my page...

I'm looking to upgrade on power from the standard 250bhp.

I understand DMS can sort me out 308bhp for £750, or APR can do about the same for £586.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on this?

Thanks

The Curn

Boost hoses and the diverter valves will quite likely suffer - well worth an upgrade to silicon hoses and uprated DVs (Milltek do good ones quite cheaply).

What is your budget as you could go a whole lot further ?
Exhaust, diverter vales, induction, remap, hoses etc all fairly easy bolt on bits.

Thanks for the suggestions so far chaps...

It is not so much budget here that is the issue, but subtlety.

Mrs Curn doesn't need to know about these upgrades as she isn't what you would describe as "rapid" when it comes to driving. Plus I don't really want to invalidate my warranty with Audi.

I rarely drive the car but would just like it to be a bit more pokey when I do take it to her parents for the weekend or skiing twice a year. I'll now be using it in Europe rather than the Rangie, as the Rangie is gassed so can't go on the chunnel and I'm sick of the ferry.

Therefore as much as i'd like to buy them, large exhausts and the like are probably off the list.

If we work with the thought "wolf in sheeps clothing" we'll be along the right lines!

the work will invalidate your warranty. Dont believe the hype re they cant detect it. They wont detect it unless they look. They will look if you make a claim. Plus your insurance will be impacted.

Curn - interested in your experiences with this car. Looking at one myself. Need 4WD and a decent towing weight (think 1900kgs of trailer with car on) but don't like the BIG vehicles you usually have to buy to get them.

Also interested in power upgrades.....wink

cheers

The quality of the remap will depend on the quality of the file that is loaded into your ECU.

I know of someone who specialises in Audi specific remaps. And the cost is a little cheaper.

PM if you want his contact details

A milltek system will give you more power but not lots more noise, turbo back, this will not invalidate your warranty ! As for remaps which is the only thing that will get you more noticeable power go to an indy for servicing as they will not be interested in grassing to Audi then take it in to a dealer for warranty work, if you want an approved map speak to MTM or ABT as they have dealer recognised maps but cost a fair chunk more.
