Hello, I'm a bit new to these 'ere parts - be gentle.
OK, on the MMI system (A4, old A6, TT etc) I can't get any sound out of the radio. Well I say I, i'm helping soneone over the phone as something may be lost in communication.
The system turns on, and everything works, but no sound comes out of it. The volume knob/power button is the only volume control, yes? Friend is going to try with CD (just in case he hasn't actually selected a radio station!) but if that doesn't work, whats the next step.
Oh, its just had a new battery - there isn't some kind of enter a code rubbishh needed to enable audio as an anti-theft device. Renault used to love this idiot system.

Erm.... I thought only the "new" A4, A6, A8 and Q7 had MMI???
Sorry, bit new to this Audi stuff, its RNS-E - with the mini MMI controller to teh right of the screen. Will suggest radio code - I guess it got overlooked as it was never prompted, and you can still navigate the system and select tracks - its just that they won't play. In my experience, the code was needed before you could do anything.
