mkIII Golf cabrio power hood fluid replacement

Hi All. A question about refilling the fluid reservoir on a mkk III golf cabrio with power hood, please..... It stopped working a few days ago (pump is making a noise, but no hood movement) so I removed the cover and noticed the fluid was very low. I added some fluid this morning, but still no change. I'm wondering whether there is an airlock somewhere. Does anybody know the official refill-from-empty prodcedure for this? Thanks.

ETA - Just checked with my local main dealer. They want £78 just for diagnosis. I don't mind paying if there really is something wrong, but I'm reluctant to pay for them just to say "it needs bleeding", then charge me more for that. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks again.
