Anyone work for VW? Confusion on parts price between dealers

Hi,

I am after a new MAF for my 1.6SR 1999 Mk4 Golf. All 4 dealers around me, Manchester, Stockport, Bury and Oldham have all quoted £82 + Surcharge + VAT for it, which comes to around £120.

Other people on ukmkivs have said they got theres from dealers for £60-65 inc VAT. Can someone who works for VW confirm this, or any others had experience of this?

With trade discount they are around 70 quid which may be the reason why your getting higher quotes.

And you'll often find that different groups will ask different parts margins.

Go to an indie supplier place - there are a few VW Golf 'tuning specialist' in the NW who can help, or one of the German car parts type places.

Have to see someone about trade discount then.

I was going to go to somewhere like VAGParts or GSF that isnt a dealer, but unsure if these are genuine or just cheap china copies that are going to break in 2 months time.

Spoke to VAGParts, they are pricing it at exact same AS VW dealers (£82+VAT) just without the £20 surcharge on exchange
