Any one driving a A6 2.0TDI 55/56, Thoughts Experiences Y/N?
Discussion
Due to change in Comp[any car policy the next car must be under 170 tax Grams and over 45mpg so Im considering a A6 2.0 TDI SE/Sline.
Does any one have any comments on what its like? i would be having it Re-Mapped. and like the Idea of a Phantom Black with 18/19" wheels

I have A6 with 19 inch wheels and sports suspension. Ride is hard but I prefer firm to wallowy and the kids get less travel sick in the back. But its not allthat smooth on UK roads, and you really feel the bumps. Its about the same as my BMW 525 with sports suspension and run flats.
The car is well made, mine is a 3.0 tdi quattro, can't vouch for the 2.0l but when i did some test drives i noticed thathe front wheel drive cars umder steer as they all do, but in a heavy car its more pronounced. I akso understand that the front drive cars suffer from heavy tyre wear at the front. My A6 quattro needs four tyres every 20,000 miles, ithink the front wheel drive cars need 2 every 11,000 or so then rears every 24,000 or so. The 19 inch tyres are very expensive. Buy them online, because on the high street kwikfit wanted £1100 for 4 pirelli Pzeros as fitted.

Got a 55 plate 2.0TDi estate Sportline in Phantom black.
Does what it says on the tin - loads of room for kids and dog.
It goes quite well, I was going to get a remap also but decided I didn't really need it in the end, although a bit more overtaking power wouldn't go amiss.
Very comfortable, quite solid secondary ride but also a touch floaty at higher speed on bumpy roads, but this really is nitpicking.
Handling and grip are pretty good for the size of car, but it does suffer with torque steer and pulls in ruts due to the wide front tyres, although this is not too bad really.
All in all I'd highly recommend it, it's a good looking car in sportline trim and there are much fewer on the road than the 5 series.
