I'm looking for a comfy sensible car to drive around the M25 in, and the above looks like somewhat of a bargain on a 2 year contract hire deal.

It's basically an SE with the following options:
• Milano leather upholstery
• 18" 12-spoke polished alloy wheels
• DVD Satellite Navigation including MMI and 6-CD auto-changer
• Dual-zone Electronic Climate Control
• Multi-function steering wheel

Audi are advertising it as a business deal at £299 pcm ex VAT http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/Financial_Servic...

I've also found it from others for £300 + VAT as an Auto (CVT) and offered on personal hires over the same term.

Looks cheap. Any thoughts on either the car or the offer?

My deals much better than anything on there.
£20 a month cheaper for a 2 year deal than the 3 year one on there, plus their one is a base spec - the deal I found has the toys and leather.

I test drove one in the manual, and whilst it's no sports car, it went alright. I'm looking for something to sit in traffic on the M25 in, so it seemed to appear to do that ok. Also, whilst it's only 140bhp as std, I think you can take it to 170bhp very easily by chipping it (VW also do that engine in a 170bhp guise).

I've not gone for the deal yet, as the timing was an issue - as the clock's ticking it's getting more tempting again. Just seems bloody cheap.

It does seem cheap, is it just the advertised price and in reality it creaps up towards £400. What happens if you are caught with a different chip on a lease car, is insurance etc invalid.

The advertised price on the Audi web site is £299 + VAT (so £350 for personal contract hire). That includes leather, DVD sat nav and 18" wheels. Metallic and anything else is more. I got my local dealer to agree to £310 + VAT for one in auto, and I'd have stuck to a flat paint and no other extras. You can get smaller Volvos and Saabs for similar money, but nothing from BMW or Mercedes.

My advice would be to call a couple of other brokers and see if they can beat this price.

Call Nationwide, they can usually beat prices advertised elsewhere (I have used them in the past for an EOS well under advertised prices)

http://blog.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/audi-...

Also try Skyfleet http://www.skyfleetltd.co.uk/ and see if they can get near that price, and Freedom Contracts http://www.freedomcontracts.com/contracthire/Audi/...

Once you've played them off among each other message me and I'll give you my bank details to send me the £500 I've saved youwink

i drove one today and was very impressed. it went well to have the 140bhp engine. More than acceptable.

I fancy one in phantom black (+£600), Sports suspension (+£200) and dechromed (+£300).

Also, the wheels it comes with are 12 spoke 18 inch, which are quite saleable - i'd replace them with 19 inch RS4 replicas.

Should leave it looking like this....

http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=5020202...

All in all, its working out about £8000 cheaper than a 520d M Sport with similar spec.

www.broadspeed.com have it half way down their home page for £259+VAT for business users, or £299 a month inc VAT for private buyers, with a £1999 deposit. Available in silver, grey or black, including all tax discs.

Cant be bad?

That works out at £7615.00 ex VAT total over the term, as opposed to £7254.00 in the example I gave. Also, it probably wouldn't be advisable to put down such a large deposit in case you need to get out of your contract for whatever reason.

Really?

Surely the Audi deal states £897 + (23*299) = £7774+VAT

As opposed to Broadspeeds, £1750 + (23*255) = £7615+VAT

Or have i missed something?

Also broadspeeds is for 12000miles pa, as opposed to Audi's 10000pa. Granted Audis excess mileage rate is less.

Are get out fees not calculated on how much you have paid relative to the disposal value of the car at that time, so in some ways, the larger deposit could work in your favour if you need to get out early?

Sorry, I was talking about the link to an offer for £279 p/m I posted smile

Early termination charges depend on the lessor; some calculate it based on a number of factors, primarily the difference between the 'written down value' and the market value. Some work on paying back a percentage (around 50%) of the outstanding payments.

I was chatting to Ashley at broombroom.com today and he was telling me how amazing this deal was -they're able to offer it even slightly cheaper. He's a great guy and has always given me excellent advice in the past so I'm sure it's a genuine offer. With the fuel price going up and up the 46.3mpg for the saloon will be very welcome. I'm just trying to decide between the manual and the multitronic. Has anyone found any pictures with the correct 18in 12 spoke alloys? I think they'll help convince my wife that it really is beautiful in black!

I've got a brand new Audi A6 Avant 2.0T S-Line as a loan car at the moment while they fix the latest issue on the RS6... Leather, toys, big alloys, body kit, multi-function wheel, etc - list price of £34k.

The interior is shocking - a sea of plastic, nasty switch-gear, and gaps in the trim that vary from one end to the other by 3 or 4mm! If they want to have aluminium trim, why not use aluminium rather than silver painted plastic! And at least make the effort to make it fit properly!
vomit

You might think this is a one-off? Well the brand new A4 Avant and the A5 Sport I have had over the last month have been exactly the same from an interior finish perspective! And talk about understeer... they are all scary as f*ck in the wet!

I'm a huge fan of Audi, but having driven a new similar priced BMW 5-series and a new Ford Mondeo in the last 3 weeks, the difference in quality with Audi is enormous! Had I purchased any of the 3 brand new Audi's that I've driven I would have rejected them at delivery.

I looked at a 3.0TDI Quattro LeMans before i bought my 535d M Sport, and TBH my opinion of Audi A4 and A6's is that you need to buy the entry level cars. The Audi A6 with full leather, Nav, 6 disc changer, 18's, climate, etc for around £26K is a cracking buy compared to an equivalent 520d at around £33K.

That difference will make it easily £100 - £150 a month more expensive on a PCP deal, and probably £200 more expensive to lease per month.

I know it's a while since I started this topic, but just ordered the Audi. Spec is as stated above, plus auto and metallic for £288pcm + VAT on a Contract Hire deal for 2 years. Delivery in 2-3 weeks. Ordered through a company called Clever Leasing, who seem very good. I dealt with a person called Sarah - highly recommended.
