Following a bout of stupidity, I did this:

I can get the indicator housing easily (and cheaply) enough from the local VW dealer, but they're wanting to charge quite a lot to paint it.

Does anyone know of a friendly paint shop that can paint match the Metallic Shadow Blue of my Passat - If needs be, I'm willing to shove the indicator in the post.

Thanks

Difficult to match paint properly without the car there. Usually several variations of each shade available dependent on original paint batch. IIRC for Fiat Stratos Silver there was at least 73 different formulas for mixing.

Paint matching and mixing is an expensive business. Is it worth spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar so to speak?

You're right - I've found an indicator on ebay and the guy has agreed to paint it up for me, but if it's a rubbish job, then I'll just foot the full bill.

And be more careful next time..
