Bora TDI - loss of power after cambelt service
Discussion
Hi folks.
I wondered if anyone could help me out here. I took my wife's 120k mile Bora TDI (non PD) for a cambelt service at a local garage the other day. It seemed okay when pootling home through traffic.
However, on a longer run today I've found it to be significantly down on power. There's a hissing noise under load as well - it sounds a like there's a pipe off somewhere between the turbo and the throttle/engine. So I'm guessing it's losing air pressure somewhere. I'm guessing some of the pipework needs to be removed to do the cambelt.
Are there any obvious candidates that I should be checking here? Something that could be knocked/overlooked when replacing a cambelt? I want to avoid taking it back to the garage if poss, due to the logistics of it all, and to avoid getting cross with them for poor workmanship (blood pressure etc). I have a 'pit' at home, so I can get underneath the car no problem. I had a quick look under the bonnet today but couldn't see anything obvious.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

you will find that there is a boost pipe that has come off on the car. due to the technician probably not fitting it back correctly or leaving it loose all together.
that is your hissing noise, loosing power defo.

This is the conclusion I reached too, but all the main pipes seem to be connected. Are there any hidden smaller pipes leading to sensors that I should locate/check too?that is your hissing noise, loosing power defo.
