Have just ordered a R36 Passat based on a long test drive as a replacement company car.

I was hoping to find an overwriting ECU program, like the Bluefin, for the car to unlock some of the reserve VW normally build in. i need something that i can remove easily as the MOT here in Lux takes a dim view on mods.

Has anyone found anything for the new generation VW/Audi engines? I have tried ABT but there offerings are more permanent than I would ideally want and most of the competition are for forced induction.

Because the R36 is normally aspirated any remap will only give a minimal increase in bhp and torque, something in the region of 10-15bhp I would have thought.

Unfortunately to get real power gains from a simple remap the car needs to be turbocharged.

Enjoy the torque and the lovely V6 sound

APS in Brackley, Northants remapped my V6 4motion Golf years ago (when these guys traded as AmD). The work was excellent but as it was normally aspirated car it only gave 20bhp. You could feel that it was a bit more enthusiastic though - quicker to rev and sharper generally.

They are well used to R32's and many R32 owners have apparently used them and are very pleased - as I was with my Golf. Try speaking to them - if they can't help they may know someone who can.

Thanks.

I had seen some good improvements on 16v golfs in the past with airbox mods, but this system seems much less restrictive. I have put ecutek ECU's in subaru's and seen the huge gains they can offer on forced induction engines.

Does anyone know if car manufacturers work similar systems to bikes with retrictors in 1st and 2nd to calm things down? I just feel the car was flat from pick up compared to how it pulled from similar revs in third. Still the demo only had 1500km showing so a long way from being at its best.

mail ed@autops.co.uk I am sure they can recommended some options, but like others suggest the bhp increase will be minimal, and may require other stuff such as a miltek. However it may make the car more drivablewink
