Just been for a drive in a DSG equipped car. I was again disappointed by DSG not my cup of tea too much of a slushmatic.

I am going to try the manual and hope to change my mind

What was your opinion on the rest of the car? I can't wait to see one...

I liked the general styling paticlularly the rear There is a large grill at the front you don't notice in photos. Bog standard interior nothing special cramped in the rear only sensible for small children. Ride is a bit choppy but steering felt well weighted. Trouble was the DSG I find I don't really drive them as I would a manual and felt disengaged from the experience and was happy to go back to the dealer. I had the same opinion aboutthe R32 DSG

If the manual is better I would consider it but may have an Abarth 500 instead.

I think they are all being delivered to showrooms now

I have an Audi R8 and I am looking for a second car so it is quite a difficult to pick something different. The couple who test drove the car before me were full of how amazing it was but all things are relative really. Abarth looks like fun but may leave me cold. I may buy a Clio Williams again!

It is a good car ruined (for me) by the DSG

The dealer I work for have just had a black one delivered which is a great looking car and its a manual so gonna see if I can take it for a spin and I'll let you know what I reckon. I agree with you about the DSG tho - I much prefer a manual especially in the R32 - you can hold the revs for longer!!

Not another DSG thread laugh

Whatever you think personality, it is a marmite gearbox and I really think you should give a manual a go.

Did the car you drove have the black leather? I prefer the tan interior in the press photos - makes the interior a far classier place to sit.

May go and have a look at local dealers although I'm purely timewasting as just got a new TT;) Interested in having a nose as Scirocco was my first car...

It wasn't meant to be a DSG thread honest but I plan to test the manual and I agree about the interior - tan would be nice

Went to see the one at our local dealer yesterday as my Mum has ordered one. Can't see the problem with the space in the back. I sat in with the front seat set for 5'11/6' and i had plenty of room(i'm 5'9). It was a black car which wouldn't be my choice it doesn't show off the shape very well it also had a black interior which is a bit dull.
And the DSG box is going to be the thing to have a great gearbox.
