MFD2 DVD sat nav - do you have to have MFSW ?

hi there. im seriously considering putting this in my golf also. its for £380 from "dj.kolia"? is the mfd2 the one that's fitted from VW for the MK5 golf?

Yes, the MFD2 works without needing the MFSW - it's also relatively straightforward to fit. You can hide the GPS antenna under the tray/centre vent at the top of the dashboard (depending on which model you have). This thread shows some pics of the install (it's the newer touch screen version, but the install process is the same).
