have been searching on contracthireandleasing.com for some deals, but does anybody have any reccomendations of where to get a good deal for a personal contract hire/similar?

Prices seem to be encouraging at the moment...

I cant quite get my head behind the maths of car leasing, but am considering it.

If I sell my focus st for circa 13k, then lease an R32 say for £300pm+vat for 24 months
that equals £8k.

Meaning I have spent 8k on a car, I will never own. But can pay £350pm from salary each month and
it means I have banked £13k from the sale of my own car, and am trying to weigh up the pro's
and cons of each, and need a bit of help.

anyone?

my understanding is that you fund the depreciation, rather than the total cost of the car, which is why they say it makes sense if you arent bothered about ever "owning" your car

strange- im actually selling my ST and am wondering about lease hire etc purely cos ive opted out of company car scheme and have my allowance to pay for a car

have a look on contracthireandleasing.com. there is a good jargon buster on there.

back to the R32 though, there are some good looking deals out there, but i have a feeling the costs will rapidly rise once mileage etc is considered. im in the position of doing circa 30k a year so im stuffed i fear!

still, worth a punt and i'll let you know if i get any figures back

Those £299 deals are for 10k. It gets very expensive above that.
These cars are also very heavy on fuel, even if you're reclaiming from the company. (Obviously fuel card is fine).

I considered one for the wife earlier this year. All the £299 deals were low spec cars in the nasty red colour.

Personally I found the ST is a much better & fun drive.

Good to know Vee, I will investigate further.

Its for the wife too(well me really), so the 10k is easy to acheive.

If they pay the tax too it makes it a good deal as the tax for these bad boys is pretty high..

dont like the red colour, its blue or black for me

hence the need to lease them out... thats where we come in..... will let you know
if i opt for one of them

VW is about to stop production of the R32 in readyness for the mk6 so you'll need to grab one now while you've got a choice of spec/colour

Cheers, I know, and am a little torn between that and keeping focus ST, or looking at the BMW 130i..
test drove it a week or two back, and good fun with RWD...
