............ Chipped an A4 TDI 2.0 ltre?

Just purchased a 55 plate with 20k on the clock. If i wanted a bit more poke should i consider chipping it? it will mostly be used for commuting, roughly 40 minutes each way?

Does a chip strain the engine? I think the A4 currently has 140 BHP.

Discuss!

The engine its self is strong enough, They made a 170bhp version with the same internals. But the 170 does have a bigger stronger turbo, and uses slightly different injectors.

SO you can remap your 140 up to 170bhp ish, but the turbo is being overworked a bit and why did audio use different injectors if they weren't required???

If you do, try not to do too many racing starts. The clutches and flywheel exploded in standard trim.

I have a 57 plate A4 S Line 140 TDI. I had it remapped at 7k and now it has done 40k+ with no problems! It gives out 200bhp with better fuel figures 50+ per gal on a regular basis and of course its a lot quicker.

Oh, and be careful around town/when pressing on - that's a hell of a lot of torque through a standard clutch!

I've got a mate who chips cars, and he's done loads of "upgrades" on this engine and has plenty of happy customers
