Hi guys

I currently have a Passat courtesy car and I musy say I am very impressed. I am seriously considering getting one as a company car as the rates are very favourable.

However, I am unsure whether it is the 2.0tdi 140 or 170 that I have, and also which model it is - any advice would be welcome!

It is a metallic black estate with black leather and has aluminium trim.

The driver's seat has electric lumbar support, and there is no sat nav.

It has 17 inch alloys with a flat face multi spoke type design (if that makes sense).

Any ideas??

ETA it is on the 08 plate.

ETA 2 - from looking at the spec sheets I think it is a Highline model. However, how can I tell if it a 140 or 170 model?

Just give a vw dealer a call and quote the reg number they have access to a system called dialog and that gives all the build spec of the vehicle including engine power.
Hope that helps.

Those are the wheels - many thanks.

I think a 170 Highline estate would be a great car - especially in the current economic climate.

No worries and I agree, but silly VW only let you have the 105 and 140 diesels with the highline trim ranting. Could always get a 140 and remap though I guess tongue out

There will be sticker in the boot, usually in the spare wheel well.
Check what KW it says and then google for a conversion to PS or BHP.

Thanks guys.

After giving it some thought I think I am going to go for a Passat 2.0 tdi Sport estate in Black pearl metallic with the 18 inch Chicago wheels. Also, I will get it debadged.

I am very impressed with the 140 Highline - by the way it looks and drives, and I think the 170 Sport will be even better.

Shame the leather option costs so much on the sport though (£1495) - I'll stick with the half leather sports seats.

ETA Here is a pic of a black Sport estate with the Chicacgo wheels. I think it is a rather handsome craft:

That's great news.

ETA but it makes the choice much harder!

Do I go for a 170 Highline Estate in Deep Black?

Or a 170 Sport Estate in Deep Black with the 18 inch Chicago wheels?

Highline minus points - you can't order the Sports suspension or the Chicago wheels. It has air con and the Sport has climate control.

Sport minus points - the full leather option is quite expensive, and you can't order heated seats with the Sport seats.

I'm still leaning towards a 170 Sport estate in Deep Black with the Chicago wheels, but I would welcome any views!

Result! You can order the 18 inch Chicago wheels for the Highline and the option also includes the sports suspension for £895 - decision made!

170 Highline + Chicagos + Dual Zone would be about £300 cheaper than a Sport + Chicagos .... so your basicly getting the leather for free and a £300 discount

Wonder when VW will update the site.
