Hi

I have a 18t 20v vag engine in a mk1 lotus exeige it is running 330 hp with an emerald ecu,the car has been fine up to yesterday when 1 hour after a run it satared to misfire on the no 1 and 4 cylinders,The reason i know it is on 1+4 is because when i took all the plugs out and laid them on the head with the coil packs still attached no 2+3 spark but 1+4 dont.Even moving the coil packs around no 2+3 are the only ones sparking?as anyone else had a similar problem?
Regards
Craig

The on plug coils packs are really common failure on that engine.

If you swap the coils from the cylinders with the misfire to the other two does the misfire move too? if so try coils first.

No,

moving the coils around does not change the fact that only 2+3 are firing.

Are you using the audi ignition module?

On an A3 I had (with the earlier type of ignition coils that didn't have problems) the ingition module/amp went which first caused a misfire then eventually total loss of one cylinder.

In the A3 it was mounted on the side of the airbox, p/n 4D0 905 351
