iam considering buying what i consider to be a good value quick german saloon, one of which being a 2002 S8.
can anyone offer any advice on buying and ownership. i dont cover huge annual mileage so the fuel and tyre cost have been factored in.
are there any serious known electronic gremlins to be aware of?
the car i have found is a straight 2002 with 68,000 miles and full dealer history.
any assistance would be appreciated.

Will be due the BIG service at 70k - cambelt, pump, tensioners etc, unless it has already been done early.

the gearbox was an issue in the older ones certainly but not sure at that age.
I believe they have a magnetic filter which can get block and bugger the gearbox, again not sure if this applies to a 2002 car.

you will get a LOT of car for the money.
