R8 V10 pricing
Discussion
I have just spoken to my dealer today who said he attended a meeting yesterday where it was confirmed to him that the V10 will have a basic price of £100700..ouch!! in the UK. But he could not confirm what you would get for that money. I expressed my disgust at the low spec of the R8 V8 and he agreed it was not what it should be and apparently dealers are asking for a much better standard spec on the new V10.
It was also mentioned that the release date would be April next year but he could not confirm that was when the first cars would be delivered or if it was when the official order list would start up. We should have an update soon.

I like the R8, but it breaks the usual Audi price/options structure for RS cars, just to try compete in price with Porsche .
Usually an RS version will have every option from the range its in - RS6 is a fully loaded A6 for example
...when the R8 was launched it looked attractive...until you go and spec it up to base RS6/4 levels and realise you need £15K of options on top !
so if the V10 is over £100K list, that means its a near £120K car with all the trimmings ....mmmm

There were plenty of options available on the B7 RS4, they were far from "fully loaded" but nobody seemed to complain about it, they just specced what they wanted and left out the options they didn't want. What's wrong with that?Usually an RS version will have every option from the range its in - RS6 is a fully loaded A6 for example

I'd rather have to pay extra for options that I actually want, rather than be forced to pay for something that comes as standard and I have no need for.

maybe they started to change on the B7 then, last one I had was the RS6, and other than a sunroof and TV option that was about it - it had every other option from the A6 range as std ...I just presumed and R8 would be like that ...rather than like a Porsche where they give you the 1" thick catalogue of extra bits for your £70K car :LOL
...im not really bothered, I will buy whichever car I like after all, just like everyone else - its just odd when Audi started to do this ..an RS car was always supposed to be top spec, now its become like Porsche - designed to maximise profit from purchasers with a poor base spec for the level of car ...what next....steel wheels and no radio so that its "more affordable" LOL
the R8 GT3 LMS looks like the hot version to have though ...1250Kg, no fancy cosmetic options to pay for, 500 odd bhp ...yummy ....goodbye Porker 997 RSR

hope it makes LeMans next year
