Mate's looking to buy a high mileage 3.0 TDi A5 - one year old manual.

Good nick and all the right bells and whistles but it's got this quite high mileage for a year old car...

Any recalls or problems with the early vehicles - of which this was one?

Cheers for any top tips...

I think a couple of recalls on some minor items, which the service dept should sort out. The more miles I put on, the better it gets...

How high is high? I know a guy who has one with around 40k on it already, and the only problem he's had with it is keeping it clean (it's white rolleyes).

25k high, so not that high... Sounds like ownership is a reassuringly pleasant experience.

Fine cars, just get one with sat nav and cruise.
The tiptronic ones are good.

Yeah there great cars. Is he sure he wants a manual though? The 3.0 TDI works better with the automatic boxes and they will hold there value better come resale time, as its a more desirable model.
