I have recently bought a milltek exhaust for my RS4 so am willing to sell the original item (from the cat back) - it had covered 18k mile and is in immaculate condition. Audi quote £3000 for a new system. I am realistic and open to sensible offers. Alistair - 07768 478 215

Well ... it has got to be less than what he just paid for his Miltek ... can't see the point of quoting £3k for the Audi system ... the only people that are ever going to pay that are an insurance company .... But I would love to hear what he thinks it is worth ...idea

Now if somebody wants to buy my exhaust for more than the price of the Miltek hehe

The thing is, Audi would quote £3000.00 for a new system. I think the local scrapper might offer slightly less tho.

Better to keep it for what you will get for it.

Should you sell the car in a few years, the new owner may not want the Milltek?

Refit the oe system and Ebay the Milltek??

How many local scrappers have a B7 RS4 though, realistically?

£150?, I saw a cat back system go for about that 4-5 months ago. Could you tell me though, are the valves vacuum or electric on the rs4? In a disconnected state are they open or closed?

£150 is far too low, was hoping there maybe an RS4 owner out there that might for one reason or an other need a replacement. If they need to pay nearly £3k for a new one then a second hand one is worth a fair bit more than £150. It seems no one is genuinely interested so I would rather hang on to it and sell the miltek when I sell the car, I'm not giving it away for nothing. FYI, the valves are vacuum operated and are closed when diconnected although as you don't seem to have an RS4 I don't know what other car you could use it for.

As I suggested above, you are better to keep it for when you sell the car.

As OEM RS4 exhausts don`t tend to be in great demand.

Good luck with the sale chap but tbh i think you might be in for a shock as to what its really worth as a second hand standard exhaust.

There was a thread only last week on RS246, same situ, bloke had just fitted Milltek to RS6 and wanted advice as to what his old system worth. (bearing in mind standard RS6 system can be an "upgrade" to an S6) He ended up putting it up at £150.00, its still for sale i believe.

Now, if you decided to sell the Milltek second hand, that would sell for a lot more.

All the best with it anyway but try not to think of it as a gold mine every time you trip over it in the garage.

Fair enough, I am genuinely interested but as I can get a Miltek catback for £600 ish I'm not going to pay any more than that.

And just for your information, your (gold plated?) RS4 exhaust with the exhaust tips changed or my bumper modified will fit straight on to my V8 S4.

100% wrong, they remain OPEN when the vacuum pipe is disconnected.
