Hello, replacing rear pads on '92 vr6, for some reason i cannot push the piston back into the caliper to allow for the new pads.

am i missing something, such as i know with some makes the piston has to be turned slightly for it to retract??

any help much appreciated as i cant get home tonight otherwise!!

like most rear calipers, you need to wind it back in - not easy without the correct tool but a sturdy pair of pointed nose pliers can usually do the trick. Locate the points in the piston nothches and wind it in whilst applying pressure..

If the old pads are well worn and the calliper piston is out all the way, without the rewind tool you could be there all day trying to wind it back in

just on my way to pick one of those tools up, £20, looks a bit easier than 2 pairs of grips, struggling!
