prices of 9 month old ex-demo's with low miles now sub 60k so was thinking of trading up the day-today car for one.
is anyone here running one, and has opinions on what they are like. didn't have massively positive right-ups in the press, perhaps as it's the wrong car for todays financial climate, but looks like the ultimate all-rounder to me.

I've got one, it's great
Having read the mixed reviews I was also a bit cautious, but after a generous extended test-drive by my local dealer, I just went for it.
I can tell you that as the mileage increases the car keeps getting better. I'm thinking that when the journo's tested the cars they must have been low mileage and probably not loosened up enough.
It's interesting if you read Harry's long term report in Evo, he seems very pleased with it - and he's doing big mileages too.
They were grossly overpriced when new, but they are at sensible money now - although, they will keep going down. I paid early 60's for mine last year. It was pre-reg'd with 300 miles on the clock and a great spec. So, certainly no complaints here.

I have no problems with the ride and handling at all. I've done 6-700 miles in a day before and didn't get out feeling any worse than I would expect. In fact I would say that I felt a hell of a lot better than I did when I did the same trip in my previous B7 RS4.
I know that you can play around with the suspension settings, but I haven't bothered because if it ain't broke don't fix it - I just leave it in Dynamic mode and go.
I've heard of people going on about DRC issues too, but (maybe I'm just lucky) I had a previous B5 RS4, B7 RS4 and the previous RS6 (4.2 V8), and I never had any issues on any of them.
There's no escaping the fact that the RS6 is a heavy car, but it does do a remarkable job of disguising it even when you are driving along 'enthusiastically'.

thanks for that linkdrove a car yesterday, will probably book it out again for a day or so. certainly a very impressive car, i'm used to driving slightly less refined performance cars (old 911's) but even so it felt more involving and entertaining than i was expecting. not sure you'd get bored of that much stealthy stonk in a hurry. guess it'll come down to the deal thats on offer.
