I agree that it does sound amazing, that might even be quiet enough for the production model
Reference it to these two clips, still not sure its a turbo muted V8 or V10
RS4 with Miltek system

I suspect this is the new motor for the S5 Cabriolet in testing.
It's the new 3.0T motor from the new S4, so a 3.0 V6 supercharged with circa 330 BHP but piles more torque than the V8.
The PDK/DSG/ or as it is actually called "S-tronic" is indeed a double clutched transmission with 7 forward ratios.
The S-tronic 'box combined with this motor is better for acceleration and gives around 30 mpg combined and very low C02 compared to the V8.
The S-tronic 'box is not to be offered on the V8 (which is now the outgoing engine making way for the forced induction V6).
The supercharged V6 motor has a characteristic sound which in this case sounds not unlike a Porsche Cayman S or 997.
Drove this engine in Spain in December - it's impressive.
The rumour is that if they do an RS4 it will be a turbo charged and supercharged motor - now that I want a go in!

found this ..
This Audi RS5 spy video, shot on the Nurburgring, shows the new car completely undisguised, which leads us to believe that it's public unveiling is not far away. The technical details of the Audi RS5 have not been released yet by the Ingolstadt carmaker, but the rumor is the car will be powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine coupled with a 7-speed double clutch gearbox.

Let's see.
I predict the TT-RS will surface this year with the 5 cyl twin turbo, circa £43000 OTR and only one RS product on sale at a time. So I feel it will be some time before another RS product is put into production. The quattro company only have the production facilities to build one model at a time presently.
I also feel that (due to CO2 constraints on the whole car manufacturing body including of course Porsche / VW group that it will be smaller capacity turbo motors from now on, as there is EU pressure to have the average C02 of all of the group vehicles on sale below a certain limit by 2011) all the performance stuff will be a smaller capacity blown motor as opposed to a large high revving N/A V8 from now on.
It may not be just turbos but also superchargers and also a combination of both. For example there is even a new 1.2 TSi motor to debut this year with 150bhp approx and this is both forms of forced induction. Hence Cayenne diesel introduced, Porsche now have PDK (Audi have released 7 speed S-tronic if you own an Audi with the engine mounted north - south) and the new S4 follows the same model as the B5 S4, more performance lower CO2 and fuel consumption etc.
The PDK / S-tronic when left in "D" will get the car into effectively top gear very early hence giving low CO2 on the test, and still be great performance.
Natch if I'm wrong I will agree the above is all tosh.
