5V or 20V Golf Turbo MK4

Hi guys, go easy im a newbie. Ive got what it may seem to be a daft question. Yesterday I brought a a lovely Golf 1999 GTI Turbo. Anyway, when I got the car home I noticed the engine cover says 5v turbo, Surely this is wrong?. I thought all golfs were 20v turbos. Do you think its had a engine replacement at somepoint or has it just had its cover replaced. Any helf would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone

Probably just had the engine cover replaced with one from an S3. (The 1.8T has 5 valves per cylinder, so both are correct 5v for no per cylinder is what Audi used and 20v is how VW marketed it. 4 cyl x 5v = 20v)

Just spoke to the ex owner and it is indeed a s3 cover. Thanks for the response
