Just droping a line to say Hi as I've bought my first Audi, a year 2000 final edition cab 2.8 auto. Im coming from 13 years with Saab's, a classic 900 turbo and a 9000cse (plus still have my Porsche 944).
I dont have a big budget but I do like cars that are well made, and so far the Audi seems as solid as the best.

One thing I noticed after all the rain we have had is some rainwater collected between the two metal skins of the boot lid, just behind the lights. This drained out when I opened it this morning!! The rest of the car is dry.
I've googled this fault but can not see an answer. Any Audi mechanics here seen this before. I was suspecting the high level brake light on the boot lid?

Thanks

Hi,

Can't help with the water ingress, but enjoy the car. Used to have a '96 2.6e and it was a lovely car. Replaced it with a Saab 900 convertible, but back in the Audi fold now!

I still have the OEM wind deflector in the garage if you've not got one?

as above i had a 2.8 coupe of the same era and it did the same. The culprite there is the light seals. Takes AGES to take apart but its an easy job even for someone as inept as me. Dealership sell the tape still.

DrG will keep me right are the final editions still 12v engines or did audi ever go to the 30v for the cabs?

Engine wise if its a 12v they are massively overengineered, a good thing. www.12v.org is a good resource.

Fairly sure they were all 12v in the '80 based cars.
