Would you swap your B7 RS4 for a 911 C4s?

Had the RS4 and currently E60 M5, straight line M5 no question...
The RS4 was just easier to drive fast in all situations for a driver of my very limited abilty...
But.....the M5 just 'DOES IT' for me every time.....
Hope this helps in some way!!!
Cheers for the comment, and it confirms what I was thinking The RS4 was just easier to drive fast in all situations for a driver of my very limited abilty...

How do you feel the 2 would fair in regards to residuals? Both are run of the mill cars now, and the M5 a "guzzler", so maybe the RS4?

The M5 is averaging 17.2mpg but more fun!!!
Residuals...the M5 seems to have found it's ground at the moment around the £25/26k mark for 05 plates with ave mileage, the RS4 around £27k for 06 plates...
RS4 for now maybe fared slightly better considering their respective costs new...going forward who knows...but at £25k to £28k there's not going to be that much more to lose on either really...
smiles per mile though and there's only one winner, and as for toys?! M5 again!
Passengers wise....had some who've been in the RS4 and M5, and the M5 got more woos...

You are swaying me
My predicament is that I have potentially a swap on either for my car, but am yet to drive either! lol
I think it is essential that I go and take both for a blast at the weekend to see which I prefer and take it from there
If you do what I did, I drove both and decided on the RS4 and bought it!!! Only saw the error of my ways about 5 cars later then finally got into the M5 and have

it since....no real regrets over the RS4 though which was a very good car...If you've not had the SMG experience before then you'll probably struggle to the M5 initially, the RS4 was so easy to just get in and drive with it's manual box...hence the 1st mistake I made..
My tip, find a good A road/motorway, floor both in 3rd gear up till the red line and then see which you prefer!!!! A private road may even be best

Duh!!! Just checked your profile and noticed the M3's so every chance me blithering on about the SMG was a waste of space!!

Interesting point to note re 'run of the mill' though I know what you meant
Used E60 M5's available in the country - 34
Used B7 RS4's available in the country - 100
And the E60 M5 has been out longer...
Rarity value????
No idea if this means there are more M5 owners not willing to sell or whatever?!!
But never realised myself the number would be as low as this for M5's compared to the RS4 which they stopped making a short while ago....

IMHO, the M5 is a better "all rounder". I had an RS4 for 18 months or so and in the past have generally fallen on the Audi side or the M vs S/RS choice. Not this time though, while I had the RS4 I had a couple of extended test drives in the M5. The M button in the M5 just does so much more than the S button in the RS4. When your out of M mode in the M5 it turns it into a far better comfy cruiser. I don't really like the term "driver's car", but in this case I think I preferred the RS4... (contraversial I know...) but it's to do with the manual box. The audi just felt a bit keener and more lively. I do appreciate though that the SMG takes a bit of getting used to. TBH there all but identical when both on full sportiness. The difference is, in the M5 you can switch it off...
Try both!!
I went into my local Audi dealer interested in an RS4 they have, they have my details already from the week before when I first viewed it and know I've just sold my 997 C4S but they still wouldn't let me test drive it. "Were sorry sir we just can't let anyone test drive an RS4, if we can sort out a deal beforehand and we know that you will purchase the car if the test drive is ok then you can have one, otherwise to put it bluntly you can't incase you purchase one from another dealer"
I just told him to stick it and walked away, it's a bl00dy joke!!
