I need to replace all 8. There's no two ways about it. Only one tyre out of all 8 is above 2mm...

Cars are a 2003 130 sport Passat & a 2005 Golf 140 dsg.

Currently P6000's on the big one and Michelin energy things on the smaller one.

The P6000's seem to be super slippy in the wet and the Michelin's seem to be too hard a compound.

Perhaps 8 Falken FK452's would be appropriate?

Any recommendations for a suitable replacement tyre?

Cheers

Hello,

we run a Passat of similar vintage and it gets on very well with Dunlop Sport 01 tyres. We also have an A4 Avant which is woeful on it's P6000's so I agree with you there.

The Dunlops are quite pricey, if you're boudget is smaller, I wholeheartedly recommend Firestone TZ200. They're excellent and very reasonably priced too.

What sizes?

I have always found AVON ZV3's to be decent enough for a runaround and fairly cheap, thats what I get when performance is not the biggest concern.

Run FK452's on my S4, very good tyres.

Both need 205 55 R16 V rated.

Ta for the advice so far - I'll have a dig about and see what deals I can muster.

Ball park figures are looking at £550 - £600 at the moment rolleyes

Camskill will do 8 Falken 452's plus delivery for £396, at a guss your local fitter will charge £10 a tyre to fit, maybe a bit less as a deal for doing so many.

Rang local tyre people - hey'll do me 8 Dunlop SP2000's fitted for £60 a pop.

I'm sure I had these on a new Golf years ago and remember them wearing quickly though.

Anyone got anything positive or negative about Falkens over Dunlops?
