A3 1.9 Tdi engine temperature gauge sender

Where is the engine temperature gauge sender located on an A3 Tdi?

Mine is not working.

Do a search on UKMIVS, engines are all the same of course, it's down the right-hand side of the engine and can be fiddly to get to.

Had mine changed on the Bora by the dealer for 70 squid, a bit pricy aye but I hadn't the time to do it myself.

Are the engines are transverse on VW's???
They are longitudinal on Audis, so does that mean the sender is on the still on the right???
Don't want to pull the wrong one.
Where should I look? and what do I need to take off to access?

A3s are transverse as they are based on the Mk4 golf. A4 & bigger are longitudinal.
