Fingers crossed I'll have my Polo by April/May, most likely a Twist or an S, these have central locking but no remote, I was wondering whether it would be possible to retrofit the remote locking system, how, and projected cost.

Thanks in advance

OK, IMO I really don't think its worth it. If you must have the funky flip key and ability to lock it from a distance then pay the extra for the SE model.

However I found this thread about the MK4 Golf, which should also apply to the 9N Polo - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/212329.aspx

Oooh, I think I'll have to do without it, my current car is just a bit of a pain in the arse to open/lock, the key is stiff and often gets stuck, so I always get absolutely soacked in the rain...

Thanks anyway!

aftermarket central locking kit by laserline.
under the driverside dash panel you will find a +12v feed, ignition supply and earth, indicators for the flash and the locking WIRE. there is only one. the lock/unlock feeds from the aftermarket unit need to be joined with a 1kOhm resistor in the LOCK wire, this then needs to be spliced into the O.E. wire. connect it all up and jobs a good'n.
If your in the southeast let me know and I can supply and fit.
Many Thanks
Dan

Ooh, what sort of price is that looking like for the whole thing?
