What does that actually mean? I've read in my manual the front discs are vented. Now common sense tells me the front ones are getting some air from somewhere or somehow. I'm really just curious to know.

If you take the wheel off and turn the steering wheel you will see the 'vents'. Imagine cardboard that has the corrugated bit in the middle.

Thanks I'll give it a go tomorow (dark now). Does it make a big difference over non-vented discs?

Make sure the car is not on the poor quality emergency jack when you turn the wheel or it may end up on the floor.

The idea is to disapate as much heat as possible, thus allowing for more efficient braking and less chances of the disc becoming warped, so yeah its better than having a solid disc. It's probably hard to tell any difference under normal driving conditions, but on track it might become noticable, where the solid disc would otherwise fade, the vented disc would keep braking hard for longer smile
