Looks pretty good IMO. Shadow Blue and the 18" Charleston Wheels is a great combo.

I'm loving the '2.0 TDI' badge, I guess VW want it to be a bit of a sleeper hehe

nowhere near as special as the MK5. Just doesn't have that presence. Now why would someone by an S3?

I agree. I'm still warming to the MK6 Golfs... Maybe the production R20 will look more aggressive?

MK5 R32? or GTi?

I think the MKIV R32 has far more character smile, either way they should have stuck with 6pots (and braved the R36 smile )

I wouldn't discount the V6 yet. It's been a sucessful engine for many years. I'm sure we will see one in the golf again. An R36 is definately not out of the question.

I like the R20 the way it looks here, as its very very subtle, just like a Golf should be. If you want it to look like a hooligan car, get a Ford Focus.

I agree with you about the MKIV having the most character, but disagree with teh 6-pots. The latest TSI small-capacity high-output engines are outstanding performers, and they don't sound at all bad either.

The main problem with the currant VR6 engine is its emmisions. They need to develope a new engine to compete with the BMW straight 6. But i suppose its just easier to chuck in the 2 ltr TSI, ala S3. Tis a shame cos some people (me) would rather have more cylinders than a turbo bolted on. I can see me in an R32 after the DC5 tbh, although it will need to go to somewhere like AmD to get the power to weight up.

Especially with a fruity Miltek system eh?

Sorry I meant the MK5 R32. The MK5 R32 is subtle but still looks special and stands out, this R20 just looks subtle which doesn't appeal to everyone like the MK5 R32 did. Its a sad sight.

How do you know how the R20 looks like?!!! The car in the picture is just a bog standard Mk6 TDI shell which they suspect is the R20 underneath (by its exhausts). VW may not have even finished the body design for the R20...

there are quite a few pictures leaked on the internet, this is just my opinion.
