Hi,
Want to change the seats in my GTI mk5, the new one's are recaro's but dont have airbags.
How do I get around fitting these without having airbag light on and to prevent the seatbelt siren sounding due to the buckle being built into the seat!

There will be a setting in VAG.COM to tell the car it doesn't have airbags in the seats.

By teh way I have Recaros and they look the part and are brilliant seats but the quality on them has not been up to the standard I would have expected for such an expensive option. I'm not the only one that has had problems with these seats so be careful

There's not a problem with wear on the seat but it's more the general construction. I've had mine at dealers twice to have clips changed as the leather was coming away around the edges of the seat. VW have changed the design of the clips to stop this happening.

One other thing to consider is if your car is a 3 door they are awkward to slide forward to let people in and out and the lovely polished plastic back is easily scratched.

If you can get a set for a good price go for them as they are a brilliant seat both from looks and more importantly sitting in.
