Did have a look around the forums for this, but didnt find anything, so apologies if this has already been brought up. I need new tyres for the RS4 B5, and was wondering if I should put run flat tyres on the car. The fronts are currently Bridgstones (Run Flat) and the rears are Michelins (I am unable to determine if they are runflats so far)

Anyone have any advice on this?

Will I notice the difference if I get run flats?

I was thinking of getting four Bridgestones as they are reasonably inexpensive compared to others.

Cheers

Thanks for that, some tyres say reinforced? is that the same as run flat?

Sorry if I am being a bit thick, but I dont want to shell out on four tyres and then realise I have made a mistake!

Are cheapy tyres really that bad?

Its not that I dont want to pay the top prices, but just wondering again if it is worth it?

Cheep tyres really are that bad, think of the power you have in a RS4 you want to make the most of it in the most usable way as its all that is keeping you in contact with the road surface.

Reinforced is just the side wall is made a little bit stronger to cope with heavier loads an prevent the side wall folding under heavy cornering

Did you try looking around AudiSRS or RS246.com?

I have Dunlops & Continentals on mine & they are very good.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics are also worth a look.

My front tyres were wearing on the inner shoulders - it may be worth your while getting a 4 wheel laser alignment done if the wear is uneven.

I don't know much about the Bridgestones but you do get what you pay for on the whole. Don't skimp on the shoes - they could make the difference between a fun drive and a very big accident... (IMHO of course)

Phone around a few pages and have been offered Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (Reinforced) for £200 each...

Seems like a good deal to me?
