A3 TDi starting problems after it just cut out

I was driving home the other night in the A3 and for some reason it stopped dead ,i've checked the timing belt and timing and thats ok ,changed the camshaft sensor ,checked diesel is coming through to the filter and can hear the tank pump buzz ok but the darn thing wont start ,it trys but to no avail can any one give any clues ,Ive had a snap on diagnostic check which showed an intermitant fault on the glow plugs but nothing else ,Im wondering if it is the camshaft fuel pump ,can any one shine any light?
