Now this looks like a lot of car for the money, what else to look out for if I was feeling brave?

I have an A6 2.4 V6 avant at the moment so I am used to sub 25mpg around town, but what are the stats for the 4.2 V8?

Anyone got one?

Have a look on auto trader as the technical details for this advert, the mpg does not make pleasant reading: Combined 13.6mpg!

I had to look at Parkers to confirm it really is 13mpg, that is shockingly bad!
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?de...

The 2.7T is slightly less mad with 20mpg achievable and the engine is easily tuned for the same bhp as the V8, just doesn't as sound as nice unfortunately.

Nice. Rarer than hen's teeth, but 13mpg?!

I don't get it - my Touareg has the same engine and gearbox, weighs about 600kg more yet averages about 19mpg.

Also a case of 'when' the suspension gives you a headache, rater than 'if'.

Not sure I believe Parkers then. Why would the Allroad be less economical than the RS6?! Would have thought it would be the same or similar to the S6? (both of which are 19mpg).

Also the C02 rating doesn't tie up with the MPG. 13mpg should be around 500 C02 I think?????

It does sound too low to be honest even for a V8 auto, i assume autotrader get their info from Parkers.

Maybe the stats are available somewhere else, I am guessing it will average less than 20 though...

20.8mpg combined according to the article below. 13 must be the urban figure.

I have an allroad 4.2 V8. It does about 15-16mpg around town driven fairly assertively and can be upto 23mpg on a run, but as it sounds great then you tend to put the boot in and get about 20mpg on a run! Prior to this I had an A6 Avant 2.7T, chipped to 300BHP and that was about 3mpg better everywhere but didn't sound like a V8 - mainly because it wasn't. The allroad is a fabulous car although I do have to agree about the suspension, it is worth keeping an eye on it. It's OK if you catch it early but don't let the compressor do too much work with a leaking airbag for too long or you will need the compressor too and that gets pricey.
