Clearing Service messages.

Normally in P&P section, but "hello" in here.
Does anyone know how to clear the dashboard service message from a Audi A6 Avant 1998 1.9TDi?

Word of caution .

From what I've heard -on variable -needs VAG COM - --can be reset on dash -BUT REVERTS TO FIXED (and cannot be reset to variable )
If on fixed -can be done on dash.

I'd wait/find an Audi tech before playing .
