Golk mk1 suspension vs mk2

Does anyone know if Golf Mk1 gti suspension will fit an early mk2 gti?

NOPE it wont fit the mk2 front shock to hub assembly is a larger diametre so you would have to machine all manor or brackets and sleeves to fit it - far too much effort! The mk2 rear shocks will be too long.

Its not like mk1 suspension is hard to get hold of, although might be worth knowing that scirroco suspension is the same as mk1.
