DSG killed car.......
Discussion
So the story goes...............
I cleaned wife's car late this evening and went to take it for a spin around the block to help dry it. I drove off normally in "D" and was fine up to the 30mph speed limit. Drove a few hundred yards and stopped at a roundabout - car cut out. Restarted it and it went into what I can only assume to be limp mode. Then another few hundred yards down the road it cut out and wouldn't restart.
The RAC have been out to it and had their version of VAGCOM on it - the best they could get was a code 18658. No matter what he did, it still wouldn't start. The RAC man towed it to my dealer where it's still sitting.
The dash flashes D,P,S etc and the ESP light near the shifter is permanantly illuminated.
Has anyone come across such a problem in the past?
Thankfully it will be under warranty - I bought it from a VW dealer in August 08 so I get a year's warranty despite the fact it's a shade over 3 years old and had about 60k on it.
