Hi Chaps,

Just had my S4 ('03 Plate) remapped and the guy said I could get even more out of it by installing a Miltech exhaust. Does anyone know exactly what the benefit is and does anybody have one fitted?
Cheers, Cenzo

Hey man, can you give some more details about the re-map (cost, improvements, who did it?) if I keep my S4 ('03 plate) I want to get it done but haven't heard any first hand experience.

Sure, done by a very experienced guy near to Shaftsbury using Superchips. He's been doing this sort of thing for years and really knows the score. Basically, with a normally aspirated V8, the gains are not as large as they are on, say, a turbo diesel, but I noticed the difference, particularly mid range. The throttle response is quicker and the mpg is better if you happen to potter around at 50 (Don't know why you would!) It's added about 20bhp and 20 Torques. If you need any more details, let me know. Oh, cost about £350, but cheaper than an RS4!

What system, cat back or full system including sports cats?.

A cat back system wont give you anything more than a nice noise to be honest. If you got a full system including the sports cats then you might get yourself a few extra ponies.

Miltek systems are quality items though.

Mine's got both a stage 3 re map (AMD) and full Milltek system - 385 bhp and a sound to die for!
Standard exhausts sound very tame in comparison - unleash the beast!

The sound is so much better with a Milltek on that you won't care about power wink

Nice work fellas, what's the likely cost on a full Miltech system? I love the sound at the moment, but you need to be in a tunnel with the windows down to fully appreciate the noise.

I've got a Milltek cat-back exhaust on my Touareg (Audi 4.2 V8 engine) and it sounds fantastic.

Cat back is £767.86 including VAT, bank on an hour to fit it.

I have a cat-back on my '54 S4 and it's superb - just enough of a rumble in the car with the windows up on the motorway to keep you happy, but not deaf, and when the windows go down and you go through a tunnel it's a lovely V8 burble. Highly recommended!

Not sure if you can get a deal for the full system, but it might be worth trying cat-back first to see what you think of it.
