Hi All,

I'm looking at Ibiza/Fabia's with the 1.9 TDI 130bhp engines in and some have spent their time blasting motorways clocking up the miles for their age. I know motorway miles are generally less punishing than standard milage but what sort of milage/age do parts need replacing such as turbo, cam belt, clutch etc...?

Am I also right in thinking that in 130bhp output the engine/turbo aren't too strained so should be good for 200k+?

Thanks!

Simon

Cambelt every 60k. Aye, the PD engines are good and the 130 is the best of
the bumch for longevity.

Unless it's remapped the clutch/turbo should last forever, by that I mean you don't do routine replacement, rather you replace if they break.

10k usually, that's for the VWs anyway, probably same for Seat.

nothing has broken on mine yet, (touch wood) is on 128,000 just has oil and filters ect (oh and a window regulator)

suspension is abit crashy tho, going to keep mine upto 170,000 then get rid as i feel i would be pushing my luck past then.

MElliottUK are you saying you've got 120k out of the factory fitted turbo? Didn't think they blew that long!

Overall sounds like a fairly reliable lump.

I can't confirm it but the lad who remapped my Bora said that although the PD engines are the same across the VAG group, Seat use cheaper turbos than VW, so he wouldn't put the most aggressive map on my mate's much younger Ibiza.

My 130 TDI in a Golf is on 147K. Oil + filter change every 20K, other filters every 40K, 2 cambelts so far, nothing gone wrong yet.

Chassis -> all fine except 2 wheel bearings and some squeaky ARB bushes.

Yep 128K, still pulls very well, im hoping to not need anything upto 170k then offload it before clutch, turbo ect problems occur, thats the plan anyway.

Is that long life oil? or are you stretching the 10k service interval?
