Hi guys, only joking regarding vanish or cillit bang...

...however, when it rains sometimes and you get some of that yellow tree sap/pollen from the trees which sticks to the car (white car) it can leave a stain when you clean it off and I clean it every weekend, but still cannot get rid of these small stains they leave behind.

Does anyone know of a good stain remover for white cars?

thanks

having just done a full claybar on my S2 i can thoroughly recommend doing it. The sheer amount of cr*p that came out the paint was staggering. Paint now looks amazing for a 16yr old 187k mile car.

Would definately recommend using something like autoglym super resin polis after the clay, just helps to remove any tiny scratching marks and prep the surface for a good wax (I used collinite on mine)

you can get coloured T-CUT. I have a white car and use the white Tcut on it twice now followed by Autoglym SRP and sealed with Mequires tech wax and the transformation was amazing. The looked far more white and a lot less creamy than it had done.

Alternative is to wash car first with washing up liquid then wash with decent shampoo then clay before washing again. The washing up liquid will remove a lot of the inpurities in the paint... just dont go using it every week as you will ruin the lacquer

Don't use T-Cut, and ffs don't wash your car with washing up liquid.

My FiL was/is partial to a cup of paraffin added to the bucket of water; claims it stops rust. Any truth in that?

Why not.

i wasnt suggesting it as a weekly cleaning routine but as a method for removing existing polish/wax and other contaminents before cutting back the original paint and then cleaning with proper car shampoo.

Believe me i have owned a car that was washed with fairly all its life and it had next to no laqaure left on it so i am aware of its effects but using it periodically and followed by a decent wash is alright.

The question isn't why not, it's why use it there's so many cost effective alternatives that are far better suited? Given the OP seems to care for his paint, it seems a tad odd to suggest something which isn't exactly great for it.
