Good deal on an Audi A3?
Discussion
The MiL has been offered a 2002 A3 1.9 TDi, covered 66k miles for £4k. Around this age/mileage are there any nightmare scenario's around the corner because, apart from the colour (that Goldy/beige/sick) I can't really see any drawbacks. Having never owned an Audi I don't really know what the servicing costs etc are like, but I do own a VAG car (Cupra R) so I know the dealer network is pretty much up to scratch.
How would people sum up the A3 on a daily basis? Would be interested to hear from any happy/pissed off owners .
Thanks

Check if its got Air con.... it was an option on std & sport models (Std on SE), cam belt should have been changed recently.
Check around the strips on the roof for corrosion blisters (metal reaction I believe) as long as its original paint you should get it recified under warranty
Generally regarded as tough cars if maintained properly, servicing is quite reasonable (its basically a Golf)

if you want to stay main dealer (national fixed prices on older cars)
If its got Air Con, FSH, ideally 5 doors and in good condition £4k sounds a decent buy
