Evening,

Im doing a bit of digging on behalf of someone else who will be selling her car soon. It's a 2005 55 Reg VW Polo, current facelift model. It's a 5dr, 1.4l Automatic in the dark navy blue.

I think it's the basic trim level, so has cloth interior, air conditioning, electric windows and remote central locking etc. The car has 47k on the clock.

It has full VW Service History AND crucially has about 6 month of the extended VW warranty remaining.

Given the spec and the warranty, what price should a car like this go for?

Cheers,

DC

Not sure on price mate, but one thing to note is that it is not the basic trim level, if it has AC, electric windows and remote central door locking. These were optionals or standard on some models.

In that case I think it's a 1.4 S Auto AC, judging bythe Parkers Specs smile

Thanks

If your going to sell it I'd advise you move it on ASAP as the new model is due out in October, so that will have some impact on residual values of the current one.

The CAP values for that car are currently:

Nearest mileage available 47,000
Price when new £10,332

Retail value
Garage/retailer's selling price £6,295

Trade-in values
Clean Condition £4,600
Average Condition £4,250
Below Average Condition £3,875

In a private sale I'd put it up for £5k and see what happens

Might be worth trying http://www.webuyanycar.com/ as they are currently offering good money for late-reg cars like yours which can easily be sold on and are in good condition.
