Hey chaps

Been looking around for some time now for a fast cab, either Audi or BMW, and came across this in the classifieds

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1124087.htm

Looks well priced but I have never owned an Audi before so perhaps I am looking at this through rose tinted glasses! Does this seem well priced? What should I be looking out for? What can I expect from the car in terms of costs etc

Any advice, or even alternative suggestions welcome. This is top end of budget - could haggle a bit even on this?

If that was a clean, standard and well specified car then yes, the price would be about right, however:

Poodle penis red leather
Symphony is the only option on that car
Wheels need disposing of immediately
Daft stickers make me question the calibre of the previous owner

Walk away - there are nicer cars on teh market for similar money.

No dice you can do better and as said judging by the wheels and stickers i suspect the owner was a twonk who didnt have a clue about cars meaning you have no way of knowing if its been properly looked after. Ask yourself why it has aftermarket wheels?? Could it be that the owner had badly scuffed or even dbent the original wheels and that being the case the 4wd system on these can be messed up by that sort of abuse i believe leading to heavy tyre wear and other issue.

Its also very poverty spec. No cc no base stereo etc.

500 ish more gets you this

Granted also different wheels but sensible wheels in all respects so suspension shouldnt be affected and has plenty of options fitted.

IN FACT

Substantially cheaper yet better equipped.

3rd edit. Ok on ph ads if you do a low to high price search then go to page 4 onwards you will come across the private ads section and there is on in there for 11.5k cat d repaired though but all bells and whistles.

As for what to look out for...

Long and short generally very reliable cars. Do have one or two issue but preventative maintenance takes care of them.

terrible alloys on that, and the red leather is awful.

the facelift model looks sooo much better too if you can afford it.
