Replacing Alternator - Bora TDI

The alternator has gone on my 1999 Bora TDI, just wandering if anyone has got any tips for replacing it? Had a quick look today and it looks as though it will be easiest to remove the power steering pump and attack it from the top?

Euro parts want £135 plus £100ish until I take the knackered one in, does this sound pretty reasonable? Prob going to have a ring round a few scrappers too and see what they've got as Im feeling tight at the min....!
