A4 cab radio reception problems

I have an A4 cab and recently it started displaying a fairly well known problem - poor radio reception which is apparently down to the boot mounted ariel and its connection to the radio.

Anyway, recent intermittent reception (i.e. only when boot was open!) is now zero reception. I took the boot lid trim off to reveal this:




So, question is, which lead is likely to be the problem and where is the problem likely to be?
Is the whole wiring replacable and is it difficult to trace it back to the radio for removal?

Any help/advice will be appreciated!
