I am piling the miles on my 2007 A6 3.0tdi Le Mans and have service coming up in 10,000 miles (2 -3 months). Does this car need a cambelt change or is it a chain? If it needs changing what mileage does it get changed at, car currently hs 50k on the clock so the service will be at about £60k

Thanks

Save your money for that poly belt though, main stealer price for the belt will make your eyes water!!

Use a specialist rather than Audi for the belt but use Audi for the service to keep the stamp if you want? that's what I do.

Timing is by chain, accessories are run by a polybelt.

I like it! What colour did you go for (ouch thats a girly question)

Watch out for Bluetooth phone module failure and software upgrade that is required. If you rotate the tyres front to back after about 15000 miles you can make them last a bit longer as you have to change all 4 together.

confused why do you have to change all 4 together? I assume you have a quattro? If so I've been told that you should keep the tyres within 1mm side to side, and 3mm front to back.

I guess that comes from trying to keep the 4wd system as evenly balanced as possible from a grip perspective. You're probably correct about the technical tolerances, but if yours eats front tyres as quickly as mine, then I think the switch is well worth it.

Yep its a quattro. Audi tell me that the tread pattern should be the same on all 4 corners and as you say 3mm front tio back. But as tyres keep being discontinued, I have found that its best to ensure even wear and change all 4 together. When my last set of tyres needed replacing the rears had life left but the fronts didnt, and Dunlop had stopped producing the relevant tyre, so I needed all 4 whereas if I had rotated them I would have got more miles for my money.

phantom black with black leather...

cant seem to get the bluetooth to connect - in fact doesnt even come up as an option on the MMI.. do you need a phone in the cradle to be able to conect to another bluetooth handset?

also, any tip on which tyres to go for? they all seem around the £180/corner mark... longer lasting the better...

Nice colour

Phone doesnt have to be in the cradle, are you sure it has Bluetooth option? To connect put the phone in search mode, wait til it finds the audi device, enter 1234 as the key and hey presto

Tyres are variable mine came with Pirelli Pzero Rossos whiche were S**t and lasted aboyt 18000. I now have Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas which are very good now 7000 miles in and no heavy wear. I had Dunlop SP9000 in between but they are discontinued, Dunlops did 25000. Vredsteins are excellent and a good price. Do you have 19 inch rims? Your £180 per corner seems very reasonable.
