Handbrake light coming on when accelerating

Essentially, when I accellerate with more than 1/2 throttle, the handbrake light comes on! In all gears, if I lift off it goes off and when I go back on the throttle it comes back, with the beeping you get if you leave the handbrake on.

I beleive there is some kind of handbrake switch, but if this was playing up it wouldnt be so specific with regard to the throttle would it?

It could be a low brake fluid level causing it, so check that.

If the levels ok it could then be time to look at handbrake switch
