Mk2 Golf Syncro + Twist But Need help
Discussion
Short of some sort of insane transplant (R8, Gallardo?) I can't think what you could steal parts out of to go mid engined four wheel drive.
There are a handful of twin engined dubs around that run a second front subframe in the back with cable change and a hydraulic clutch - this would let you use more standard parts and get big power with less tuning.
Thing is if you'r enot bothered about grafting why not get yourself a cheap 3-door non sunroof shell? Unless you plan to stay front engined 4x4 the synchro rear pan and tunnel will offer no realy advantage and 5 doors looks a bit out of proportion to my eye.
