What is this park and where does it go!! (1.8T AGU Golf)

My brother has just done an engine swap on a 1.8T golf with his mate but can't figure where this part goes. Any ideas!? thanks...

Gearbox stabiliser bar - bolts in above the clutch slave cylinder. Goes from a belhousing bolt across to a spare bolt on gearbox casing.
