VW Polo cambelt change- Advice please?

My son's Polo 1.4 16 valve petrol engine requires a cambelt change.
The specialist who usually services the car advised that as it has a twin-cam engine it needs two belts and the change will cost him £380. I told him to ring the VW dealer who said that it had one belt and the change would cost him £240. He can't decide which way to go and I don't know enough about it to help him make a decision.
The car is registered in Dec 2000 on an X plate.

This talk of two belts
Are you guys confuseing the one Cam belt (that drives the camshaft and maintains engine timing) which if it breaks destroys the engine. .
and the auxiliary drive belt that runs the A/C compressor alternator power steering pump etc.
Most cars will have a cam belt and one or two aux belts, so when you cam belt is replaced your alternator drive belt is replaced at the same time, so two belts are changed, but only one is really important.
Think we have that polo engine is A2's (but not 100% sure) The A2 engine doesnt have two cam belts, I've never seen an engine that does, apart from an old lotus V8.
I'd Get it done at the main dealer, the only reason not to get work done at the main dealer is cost, if they are cheaper, its a no brainer. Have them confirm the quoted price to you when you book the car in, and you should have no problems.

If you look closely you can just see the secound belt that runs between the two cams, its a small belt with a second tensioner. £380 does seem a bit dear though tbh.Picture shows engine clearly one cam belt driving water pump and cam shaft

I never done one like that before.
Has indeed got a little belt to join the cams, where other VAG engines have a chain. All the other manufacturers use the same belt to drive both pulleys on twin cam engines, odd that VAG doesnt.

IF they will confirm the price, I would still get it done at the main dealer. Service adviser you spoke too obviously didnt think it had two either, there quote system probably just give a cost of the kit (which actually contains the other belt too) and the labour time to fit it.
